Please Cancel the Following Channels

I can't help but think when reading the tedium that people write that they must live lives of quiet desperation out there if they feel compelled to spend so much time on-line sharing the mundane things they do with the world. Fortunately there are choices of tedium to select from that make the time invested to find something truly awful rewarding. (Oh and let us not forget about the best payoff in this exercise....the one where we get to feel so incredibly good about ourselves for not being as sad and needy as the person writing). Basically there are the following great "channels" to select from when reading people's riveting prose in a blog:

Home Improvement Blog/Channel: One of the most effective ways of alienating anyone you have made friends with, but typically the casual contact can be completely snuffed out by the endless descriptions and pictures of the latest in deck progress or new garage doors. Honestly, even in real life this stuff is boring.

Biography Blog/Channel: Endless details of the blogger's life are shared including their philosophy on life and typically more than anyone should divulge either online or in private as just a matter of polite behavior. This channel can be hit or miss. It is often accompanied by photos of family or other personal things that are probably unwise to post in an area where so many predators roam. Endless discussions about your children are nearly as tedious on here as they are in person, yet typically people post such wonderful, polite affirmations that it provides unneeded encouragement. On the other hand, discussions about romances gone bad or personal tragedies can be wildly entertaining both from a content standpoint and and OH MY...Did they just REALLY write that to share with the world. In those latter examples they are great reads of indiscretion.

Ultiimate BlogfightingBlog/Channel: Of all the channels this is the most fun personally for me. Even though romance gone bad or discussions of dead fiance's are hard to beat, this channel, where strangers enter each other's blogs at random to fight about things that involve neither of them is truly an Emmy winner. The ability to completely check your humanity and maturity at the door to fight with a stranger who in many cases isn't even who they portray themselves as is monstrous delight. The language, the inane back and forth, the complete chaos! Just get the popcorn and soda out, sit back and watch humanity at its absolute worstl It rarely gets better.

Friends & Family Blog/Channel: This is a channel that should be subscription only. Only those who have a personal vested interest should be allowed to "view". While the internet is an excellent tool for keeping in touch with those you're far removed from, what's the purpose of allowing every creep on the internet to see your kids photos???? It seems unwise at the least, reckless at most. You need to wise up people.

The beauty of social networking is the availability and access it provides to those who continually find themselves on the fringe of real society. Often we feel sorry for the wall flower or geek, relegated to solitary time because they are not pretty or funny enough to circulate in the real world. One has to ask, "Did they really think they'd be everything they're not, in a virtual world?" Sadly the answer is no. If you're not interesting or fascinating in real life, being popular on here is not likely, unless it is surrounded by other losers like yourself. This must be why you never see any "Ugly Baby Contests". How do you really pick a winner? And if you do win, what does that really mean????

Now.....back to my fascinating REAL life.......So sweet! Until then losers......

I am.....As Always
